In addition to the above, OES develop and run specialist in-house training programmes for companies on topics ranging from wastewater treatment to environmental management systems and auditing.

We are currently offering the following public courses:

Occupational First Aid

OES Occupational First Aid courses are delivered under Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) Guidelines in conjunction with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) Guidelines

This certification course is intended to provide training of personnel who wish to become certified first aiders and is run by an Occupational First Aid instructor registered with the HSA.The course will cover use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

OES utilizes casualty simulation kits which contain simulated wounds of common injuries including fractures, lacerations and wounds to teach attendees to properly recognize and treat these injuries in simulated emergency situations.

Paediatric First Aid

Course aimed at parents and guardians and provides the essential first response to common child related accidents.

Course covers:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for an infant, child or adult
  • Heimlich manoeuvre for a choking baby, child or adult
  • Broken bones • Bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Electric shock
  • Seizure
  • Poisons, stings and insect bites
  • Temperature management

This course can help Parents to judge better when to rush to the A&E or GP, and when to stay at home.

Duration: 1-day (Saturday) or 2 Evenings

Occupational First Aid – Refresher Course

This recertification and refresher course is intended to keep the occupational first aid certificates of participants up to date. The course involves practical and theory assessments and on successful completion, the certificates of attendees are updated for 2 years.

The course will revise basic life support and use of an AED and focus on the use of scenario training.

On completion, participants will be recertified as Occupational First Aiders and be able to demonstrate practical First Aid skills to the Occupational First Aider standard.
